Doug is the founder and General Partner of the Hivers & Strivers Capital.
Doug has worked at all levels of the federal government, to include service at the White House on the National Security Council Staff. Later, as a Presidential Appointee, Doug joined the newly-created Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and provided America’s private sector with a direct line of communication to the Department. Doug worked directly with individual businesses, trade associations and other non-governmental organizations to improve security while promoting cross-border trade and travel.
Prior to joining DHS, Doug designed and implemented complex technology and business process solutions. He also gained experience in how to manage change in large organizations while serving in one of the leading manufacturing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) firms in the U.S.
Doug began his career as an Army Intelligence Officer with diverse assignments at tactical and strategic level including service at DIA in support of Operation Desert Storm.
